Abstract

Dear Editorial Board Members, Dear Authors and Readers,

This message from the editor-in-chief marks a joyful occasion – the 30th issue of our Bulgarian e-Journal of Archaeology – the first and, to date, the only one of its kind in Bulgaria to have been consistently listed in ERIH+ and subsequently indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate Analytics).
For 15 years now, the Editorial Board (whose membership has changed over time, but which still includes the journal’s founding members) has been dedicated to this endeavour, carrying it out systematically, consistently, and to the highest professional standards. This issue contains materials spanning the full range of our sections and their entire thematic scope – from prehistoric ceramic house models to medieval costume. It offers a detailed analysis of a Chalcolithic tell ceramic assemblage; brilliant and exquisite gold jewellery from the Bronze Age; intriguing artefacts from the Archaic and Classical periods related to culinary practices; a fragment of a luxurious couch from the emblematic Seuthopolis; a well-argued attempt to desacralize an ancient pit sanctuary; a Roman funerary stele with family portraits; a Jain bronze altar-piece from the 9th or 10th c. AD, in a Bulgarian museum; a retrospective overview of the activities of the Centre for Underwater Archaeology, recently designated as the Underwater Heritage Institute; and educational activities with children at the National Archaeological Museum.
This issue is significant both for its number (Issue 30) and for its rich, diverse content.
I would like to thank all the editors and authors for the journey we have taken together. It has been successful, inspiring, and promising. Let’s continue moving forward and upward together!
